You know I have been way behind the 8-ball when it is taking me three months to post pictures from Crypticon 2014 this year. Needless to say yeah it has been an interesting spring over here, and as we slowly recover from the weirdness that has been our spring, we are getting back into the swing of things that we meant to do, and we are going to end up having a pretty exciting spread of cosplay pictures here from Crypticon Seattle.
There were two costume contests, one was the regular costume contest and one was the cosplay contest, so this is a two part blog entry to accommodate all the pictures that were taken.
Yeah and Medusa won this one, and it was pretty sweet, the snakes in the hair actually made hissing noises and that really was what set the whole costume alight. That is why we are using this as the cover picture; it was amazingly well done and totally awesome. The costume was so worth the first prize, along with the usual input from the peanut gallery.
My favorite one was the “don’t text and drive” costume pair but then there I go again thinking, one can never really guess what the judges will think, and while Medusa was awesome, really awesome, the don’t text and drive costume was also pretty appropriate for the whole idea of the costume contest before the ball. And the cake was awesome too, really good cake. And yeah, the Bio-hazard bar was just across the hallway, so the drunken lady who fell over right as the costume contest was getting started was an awesome way of starting the night off on the right foot. Along with the cake (we have a cake obsession over here by the way).
Otherwise enjoy the pictures of the 2014 costume contest from the show, sorry about the delay, ask me what happened, buy me a beer, and we might have time to discuss it. Needless to say there has been a lot of downtime lately, and we have a lot to make up for.
Photographers were Studio5graphics and ICandy in case you were wondering. The costume contest was totally worth going ato; I hope you see yourself there as well if you participated.
