Doogie Howser, MD, Dear Blog, today I travelled to an imaginary world and brought a dead drug-using naked rabbit back to life using magical talking candy. I’m one hell of a doctor! Now, where the fuck is Mum with my milk and COOKIES!!!!
Yeah, and it gets weirder, which makes it brilliantly funny. We have been rolling around over here looking at the media pack and what Action Lab Entertainment sent over today and just about digging on this comic enough that we want to go buy it. The cool part is that they are also doing a limited edition cover for this one, realizing that most everyone is going to download it off Comixology, and if you want to cater to collectors, you need to start doing limited edition comic book covers with limited runs. Action Lab is getting this, and it is good to see a smaller independent press taking this kind of risk. Stories about drugged out bunnies are simply not family friendly so this will do well amongst the college set, or just sick and twisted comic book reviewers like ourselves.
Yes we are talking about the new Action Lab Entertainment comic book, the Itty Bitty Bunnies in Rainbow Pixie Candy Land. Where the drugs look just like candy, and the two really weird bunnies are getting into as much trouble as Ren and Stimpy ever did. Honestly this reminded us a bit of “Life in Hell” from Matt Groening and Ren and Stimpy with enough entrendre to bring up the Angry Beavers as a side marker on the comic book. The Author according to the press release:
Dean Rankine is a regular contributor to Australian MAD Magazine and he drew, ‘My Mother is a Brain-Eating Zombie’ and ‘Flatman and Ribbon’ for the UK’s longest running comic, The Dandy. Dean’s other credits include writing and drawing back up stories for Simpsons Comics (Published by Matt Groening’s Bongo Comics), Mania, KidZone, Krash, K-Zone, Wacky But True and Kids Alive magazines.
Which is probably one of the reasons that this reminds me of a drugged out Life in Hell episode, he has all the right moves, the question is will you buy it?
We are going to rate this puppy five of five stars because yeah we would buy a story about two drugged out bunnies in Pixy Candy Land, where the first character you meet outside of the bunnies is Angel Dust Fairy Hot Cakes. Go try to get a copy, something tells me this one is going to go over well for the audience, not safe for kids, but just about everyone with a weird sense of humor will like this one.
