Yeah this one is cool, everyone has gone missing and mayhem is happening. Well Tarot is missing in action, and no one knows where to find her. Personally I think she got tired and decided to take a vacation, but even the cat can’t find her and that is going to cause problems in both the mortal and faery realm of existence. Of course Raven Hex is at it again challenging people and getting challenged this time by a Dark Pan. It is not going to go well here for either of them I think in this comic. But magical duels are awesome and this one is nothing like what you saw in a Harry Potter movie. So what is going to happen next? It is going to get ugly fast, and Tarot is nowhere to be found to pull the bacon out of the frying pan. This whole arc seems to be devoted to the idea that Raven has to stand on her own for a bit, just to see what happens. This is a nice addition to the entire story line as Raven is an enigma to me at times, and she seems like she is over inquisitive, leading to some serious problems along the way that only Tarot can solve.
Good story line and awesome drawing for the magical duel, seriously good story line on this one. The cool part is that we get a little more about Raven, she is an interesting character. I think I would like to meet her and see what is up with her challenging folk’s right and left, but then I would probably end up a bloody smear on the pavement for even thinking this one out loud. So this story has a little more of the usual violence and other goodness, and we get some interesting viewpoints into the whole process of how this family works, or does not work as the case might be. It is good to see a dysfunctional family story line that makes my family look normal.
As usual because I am a foaming at the mouth Tarot Witch of the Black Rose fan, I am rating this one five of five stars. I’ll never rate it lower unless something horrible happens to Jim, Holly or the rest of the production crew. So let’s hope that does not happen ever. Good plotting in this one, good drawing, excellent coloring, engaging story line, there is nothing going wrong on this one. Well worth getting from Broad Sword directly or picking it up from us so we can keep the site going. Either way you get it, it is going to be well worth reading.
