Written and Drawn by Tymothi Godek
This has been dubbed the world’s longest comic book, and if you look at the picture below, it stretches form one end of the living room to the other with no room to spare, had to drag this one up the patio window to get an idea of what a single continuous 20 foot page of comic book looks like. Honestly this would make an interesting shared coloring project for kids at a party for the birthday kiddo. Exclamation is a story about a boy meets girl story line that is perfectly kid safe, so if you were looking for a project for your kids artistic output with crayons, then this is the one comic book you want to get as long as you do not mind it stretched across the car back seat on those long summer drives cross country with the family.
Who wants a 23 foot single page comic book? Even if it is an award winning and funded comic book at that? I do, I really am enjoying this comic book and will be turning it over to the kids once I am done thumbing through it, although I do not recommend that a person reads this one in bed when you have cats, they also really seem to like a comic book like this because there might be hidden lurking things underneath the pages.
While this is a boy meets girl, who gets his heart broken by said girl in a park, with a robot that is wandering in and out of the scene, there is an interesting point to the rejection. A monster comes out and lays waste to the city, in which said girl escapes, but then the boy meets robot and it is love, surrounded by camera crews who are recording every minute of said man on robot love in a park. It is all clean and all pretty silly, which makes this an interesting kid’s comic. This is also one of the new breeds of independent comic books that is coming along without text, the story line is told only in pictures, much like some of the other comic books I have covered lately. This is a Xeric Foundation comic book, and is totally unique in so many ways that it is easy to fall in love with the comic even for its phenomenal ability to be a coloring book and a toy for cats at the same time.
I am going to rate this one five of five stars, because I really enjoyed it, even if I was dismayed by my cats reaction to the comic book being strung out across the floor. Good simple solid comic book with an enjoyable story line, robots, monsters, and a solid boy meets girl, gets rejected by girl, falls in love with a robot anyways surrounded by the paparazzi. In all, this one is worth finding, owning, and loving in its own way. If you have kids, get two copies, one for you to hold onto, and one for them to turn into the most amazing coloring book they have ever had.
