ICON/MILLARWORLD
In my last review of Kick-Ass2 I noted that I would do a summary of issues 1 – 3 than the review of #4. Although not much has happened I guess the key points are that Mindy still has yet to put on the Hit-Girl outfit and return to the streets. Dave joined a super-hero team called Justice-Forever, completed one mission with them than things made a turn for the worst. Red Mist returned changing his villain name to The Mother-F*cker. He and his gang of villains killed Colonial Stars and his dog Sophia to send a message to the team at their own headquarters.
In this issue Millar really kicks the violence up a notch with a scene the really breaks your heart if you are a big fan of this title and its characters. A lot is going wrong in this world now that The Mother-F*cker is back, and it’s pretty hard to avoid the chaos him and his crew are causing.
All the destruction that Chris Genovese (TMF) thought Dave brought to his life is all going to turn around and hit Dave twice as hard and it truly does in this issue.
Kick-Ass2 #4 really blew me away on every conceivable level. I couldn’t believe what was happening, nor did I want to. If your a big fan of this title, this issue is truly going to break your heart. Much worse than the stabbing, and car accident we witnessed in Kick-Ass.
This comic is starting to ramp up and I can only hope for Hit-Girls triumphant return in the next issue. I think that’s a plot point we have all been waiting for. I’m really looking forward to reading the rest of this series and hope it continues down the enjoyable path it’s been on. Although heart-breaking, it is definitely is a great story.
5/5 even though you broke my heart Mr. Millar. Happy reading!
