A Series Of TubesWritten and Drawn by Dan Goldman

I stumbled over this comic book this morning, and the good thing about digital comics is that you can get a really good idea of what the comic book is about before committing to the book. This is an interesting comic book about a psychic and the ghost of his long dead father makes for an interesting story line this morning. Jude the psychic and his wife who is pregnant end up in an interesting ghost story that will keep you entertained and on the edge of your seat at times. Jude’s father has died, but keeps in touch with his son and wife through a series of near dream sequences from the wife’s viewpoint.

The bad part is when the ghost of dad disappears, which means the son Jude goes on a ghost hunt with interesting complications in what ends up being an engrossing end to the story line. No spoilers on this one, it is worth getting, but the ending really does make up for some of the slowness in the middle of the comic book.  The good part about seeing and talking to the dead is you get a different perspective on life. The bad part about talking to the dead is that some of them want to come back, meaning you might just inadvertently open a gateway portal to the afterlife that could seriously screw up your day. Dark portal to hell, well there is that, and after all the horror movies I tend to watch this was a nice addition to the idea of what the dead could be all about. Add to that a property rental business and you set the stage for an awesome story line that is highly entertaining.

Overall this is an awesome comic book with bits of it based firmly in reality. Selling previously used haunted houses is just a nice sideline in the story. I am going to rate this one four of five stars, there were some slow bits in the middle, and there are some parts that I skipped but should not have because they were slow. There will be some rereading in the comic book so you can figure out what is going on. Some of this might be my fault because I tend to skip the slow bits. Overall though, awesome story and well worth getting, it can be found digitally so hoping at some point I’ll see a print edition of this somewhere. Well worth getting, well worth reading, and well worth enjoying, you could do a lot worst for 99 cents.
