Steampunk Exhibition Ball 2012 The Steampunk Exhibition Ball 2012 over at MOHAI is over with, and digging through a few hundred pictures along the way. It was an amazingly good time with many very cool people dressed in their steam punk finest. The entertainment was top notch, although could have done with a few less drunk people but hey it was a night out and if you are not driving, then having an awesome time is in order. And a good time was had by many people, and I am estimating the audience at somewhere between 400 and 500 people watching awesome dancing, skits, plays, music, and other forms of solid entertainment. In all this was the best event to kick off the year.

This was our first Steampunk Ball, so we didn’t know what to expect, but I want to take the time out to thank the folks over at CSPC for throwing the event, and for everyone who showed up and danced till the early hours of the morning. There really are few if any words to describe this, you should make plans on going next year to experience it. The Steampunk Ball is an experience, and was well worth taking a look at. The fun part was the burlesque, and the Blackmoore Traveling Picture Show. The Toy Box Trio was unusually and endlessly fascinating. I didn’t realize you could play a double bass, a toy piano and a smaller accordion with a special composition of classical music. Seriously, that sounded awesome. The Blackmoore Traveling Picture Show was not what you would have expected, the dancing, singing, and focus on morbid thoughts was an excellent way of capping the event in the Lava beds Cabaret theater. You never know what you would have missed if we had not been there to bring it to you. In all honesty though, this was an awesome night, and we plan on going again next year because there was so much going on, it would have been easy to miss something.
