The cheerleaders are at it again with another blood splattered bit of mayhem across the pages of Zombies VS Cheerleaders number 3. What makes Zombies VS Cheerleaders interesting Is not just the body count, but the bodies that go along with them. Of course all the Cheerleaders are hot in this comic book set, and of course the zombies are really only interested in brains. However, all of our cheerleaders in this book end up getting blood splattered along the way. Those zombies really want to eat brains and for some reason the cheerleaders do not want to be killed off by zombies. Steven Frank and the group that writes this like Brandon Jerwa, Max Cannon and others have developed a really interesting premise that centers on hot chicks and ugly zombies. Each story is different, and each one in the series always comes with a number of well done covers across each of them.
This series pretty much so rocks from stem to stern, with the story lines cut right from 1980’s horror movies for slapstick entertainment. Yes there are baseball bats, chainsaws, hot peppers, and other unusual implements to kill off zombies. It is also very cool that the cheerleaders always seem to survive despite the odds of them making it to the next panel. So hot chicks, and dreaded zombies really makes this whole series. This comic features some very good art from Max Cannon, Eric Esquival, Gerrad McConnell, and of course Steven Frank. This is totally a comic book that is worth getting, and having the physical copy for. There was also an interesting panel that Steve participated in at the Tucson Comic Con in 2011 that is worth watching to get an idea of how this series works. The audio is lousy, but if you crank the speakers, you can just make them out.
Rating this five of five stars because it seriously works, good art, good lettering, good colors, and just a fall down funny story line.
