In this issue of Fade From Blue, the stray cat Blizzard that Elisa brought into their home has befriended Christa the outspoken hater of cats driving her completely up the walls. Meanwhile Elisa’s date with Derek did not go as she hoped and Marit continues the search for the man she expects may of killed her murder all those years ago. Iya is busy looking for a new job after losing yet another one wrapping the entire episode err issue up with Christa and Elisa having dinner leading into a confrontation with another diner.
Its hard for me to not refer to these as episodes because they play like a well written television series if you were to turn this series into a live action dramatic sitcom you would have a monster of a hit. The beauty of this series is the fact its so many things in one package at times it’s a girly relationship driven tale of sisterhood, sometimes you get a laughter packed comedy and a big part of the story thanks to Marit is a gritty crime drama and murder mystery. There is honestly something for everyone with this series and I think this would translate in an amazing way to television.
Another feature that makes me view this in a episode format is the detailed yet always slightly different previously on feature before each issue that runs down the entire story up until the current episode just incase you missed something or are jumping in later on in the series something that is ultra popular in the world of television these days. I think all comics should adapt this feature for the sake of new readers and for those of us who may miss an issue now and then and don’t want to be lost in the dark or forced to spend time investigating what we missed online like a low rent private detective.
I am really enjoying Fade From Blue and find myself already very attached to each of the four girls and interested in seeing what happens in each of their lives. The series features very believable and strong writing with simple yet eye-pleasing art a total package of perfection. If you are looking for a humorous yet deep comic book adaptation of the age old bond and adventures that can only be had with sisters or in this case very close half sisters you need look no further than Fade From Blue.
