Happy 4th of July 2011 from Comics Forge, the one national holiday we have outside of New Years eve where drunks and explosives go hand in hand. Where BBQ’s, family fights, I mean gatherings, and a ton of other signs of dysfunction are happening across the USA this fine sunny day. Comics Forge would like to wish everyone a safe and happy celebration of the USA, and our downright weirdness, cultural artifacts, and do not forget patriotic comic books.
Ahh yes, I can smell the BBQ’s now, the burning cheese (thanks Starbucks new book for that image) permeating the airspace. Children laughing and running around like idiots until the parents get cranky, you know it might just be time to curl up with some good old Goth comic like Johnny the Homicidal Maniac, or Squee, or Afterlife in Gothland. Let’s face it, your parents are going to embarrass you, not only that, they will do it in public. Maybe time to put on some music, good depressing long lasting music that will annoy your parents. Yes, retribution can be sweet today.
Well from our family to yours, have an awesome 4th of July, we are hooking up with family today, and we will try not to burn down the neighborhood too badly. Hope your life will be groovy today, not too depressing, and overall, a true celebration of bad food, fireworks, and general mayhem. Don’t forget your comic books today, find something obscure that will gross out the aunts and uncles, that should be fun, I wonder what we have buried in our long boxes of comics somewhere….
