Vampirella was a very hot comic book, and still is, even though it has fallen off the radar of many readers over the last few years. Since them Harris Comics has put out a number of Vampirella Trade Paperbacks that are worth picking up if you are a Vampirella fan. The Blood Red Queen is one of those that you will want to pick up if you are a fan, and if you are not a fan, this is a complete story line that pretty much so sums up the story line of the Blood Red Queen. The Blood Red Queen has been one of Vampirealla’s nemeses from day one, violent, cruel, and often brutal, the damage that she has done to Vampirella has been extensive over the 40 year run of the comic book series. In this trade, they finally have it out, and only one will survive.
The Blood Red Queen has it all in this series, and Vampirella is forced to choose between the only person that she really loves and saving the world. She cannot have it both ways, Vampirella has to choose, and choose wisely, either way it is going to lead to a loss, of the world or the one she loves. Needless to say we have hot chicks in skimpy clothes running around the place duking it out and in scenes reminiscent of Jell-O wrestling, these two ladies have to duke it out. But will Vampirella be able to finally defeat the Blood Red Queen in time, and save both? You will have to read the book to find out, no spoilers here.
Richly drawn, few articles of clothing, hot vampires everywhere, and this book has it all for everyone who is into Vampirella. The good part of this is that we finally have it settled out, who is the better fighter, Vampirella or the Blood Red Queen. The final battle scene in the book absolutely rocks, and is probably the best part of the book. Rating this one five of five stars because I am a huge Vampirella fan, and the drawing is impeccable. The dialog fits in well with what is happening on the page, so few could argue its artistic merits. And Vampirella is simply hot, with more hot vampires coming down the pike in this graphic novel. It is seriously out of print and getting harder to find all the time. If you do not have it, it is well worth adding to your Vampirella collection, but you are going to pay a lot for the trade paperback.
