We thought we would give you a quick preview of what we are bringing along and talk up Crypticon Seattle, as a gentle reminder that this is going to be a lot of fun and it would be a tragedy if you were to miss it. As of this moment in time, it looks like we are going to be the only comic book company there, which in its own right is somewhat surprising. Although Your Mom Punk Rock comics will be there, it looks like they are an indie title and not a full blow comic book store. So we might just be your only chance to pick up some way cool stuff.
We cleared it with the Crypticon folks and we will be bringing a lot of Tarot Witch of the Black Rose stuff, and Holly Go Lightly has thrown in some Tarot Witch of the Black Rose trading cards just for this show. These will be given away free, so make sure you pick up one of them, they are very nice trading cards. Tarot is a bit racy so not good for the kids.
We got a pile of back issue Hack Slash to bring along that we have been talking about here on Comics Forge for the last week as we build up for Crypticon. We were able to purchase a back room of hack slash comic books and they will be in before we head on down there. This includes a good number of the Graphic Novels, and a good handful of the comic books including some of the harder to find number 1 comics.
We are also bringing in a small number of toys just in case you really need a 9 inch SAW puppet, well then there it is.
We will also be doing a special deal on “Let it Bleed” by SL Schmitz, one of our books via Dead Tree Comics. You can read more about it at the site “The Dead Girl”. We are offering a special ½ off cover sale on this comic just for Crypticon, and she is one of the hottest new writers in horror around and we are very happy to be bringing this to Crypticon. This is some twisted weirdness to go along with it. Here is a synopsis of this awesome horror book that is just a tad bit sexy to go along with the story line.
“1983. A Razorblade Boy, lead singer with an obscure industrial band. A Dead Girl, a wandering, bruised waif living on the edge of madness. One’s the voice of youth – the other, the mother of the next Savior of the human race. But there’s a problem – the Dead Girl was only meant to produce the Savior, not fall in love with the Razorblade Boy. That means trouble for All-God – catastrophic trouble, with cosmic repercussions. The Dead Girl, All-God’s most beloved and most damaged of all his creations, becomes a beacon of assault for all those beings of Light and unLight, and her fall into spiritual decline threatens to unleash forces beyond even the comprehension of the most enlightened human. The Angels of the Apocalypse are standing in the wings, just waiting for the trigger…. the Razorblade Boy or the Savior – which is it to be?”
We will also be bringing a large amount of Zenescope comics to suit your new horror fetish. Some of these are not available in any store, and we are bringing many special edition covers. If you are not familiar with Zenescope, now is the best time to learn about these awesome remakes of the entire Grimm Fairy Tales line of comics.
Otherwise, we are planning on hanging out, taking a lot of pictures so bring your best costumes, and otherwise getting to know this group of people. This is our first smaller convention, we are usually at Emerald City Comic Con and Sakuracon if you have run into us there, and we are looking forward to meeting you.
