Issue #47 of Tarot: Witch of The Black Rose begins with Tarot and her fellow witches freshly rescued and about to do battle with The Bleeding Man and his minions of evil. The conclusion to four-part story arc “The Witch Key” this issue is filled to the brim with action and a large cast of beautiful witches banding together to defeat the forces of true evil while protecting their beliefs, way of life, and most sacred secrets.
This is one of my favorite issues of Tarot I have read thus far; mainly due to the large cast of characters that become involved in the battle against The Bleeding Man and his cenobite looking servants. There are so many different witches in this issue from every walk of life imaginable that I found myself spending a lot of extra time per page just taking in all the visuals presented panel to panel. I was really stunned by the amount of random witches included in this epic conclusion to The Witch Key storyline. My personal favorite of the witches in this issue has to be the student from the Dark Academy with her punk rock infused schoolgirl outfit.
The perfect end to a very intriguing story arc issue #47 is a must read for fans of the series and I would highly recommend new readers interested in getting involved in the series pick up issues #43-#47 to experience the entire Witch Key storyline. You will get a little taste of everything the franchise has to offer wrapped neatly within four issues that should be more than enough to decide rather or not you enjoy the series as much as I do.
I am really glad that I got turned onto to the world of Tarot and hope that many of you will go out and give this series a chance as I have said before this is not your typical adult comic while it is very sexual and graphic at times it is supported with beautifully written story arcs and a cast of unforgettable characters. The comics’ positive portrayal of witches as heroes instead of your typical villain is also a nice change of pace and is a factor that I highly appreciated. I have had a few real life friends who practice read a few issues and they were all very pleased with the way it is presented a note worthy feat if you ask me.
