Oh yeah, the grand opening of the Emerald City Comic Con was something wonderful and magical (sorry Steve Jobs, but yes this was better than IPad 2) to behold. Literally thousands of people played hooky from work and attended the first day of the show. Packed wall to wall people in a happy fun mass of people was really something cool to behold. The absolute enjoyment of comic book culture, people, characters, and other folks.
They seriously sold some tickets for this show as they were saying that they sold some 25,000 tickets online before people started showing up at the door. Of course Day two is the day to be there, as it is the only day that William Shatner will be there getting mobbed by people who must, and I mean must get their picture taken with him. Sometimes you have to wonder if Shatner knew or had any inkling that 40 some odd years ago he would still have the major impact on pop culture via Star Trek that he has had over the years.
Got to spend some awesome time with Neko Press, and there will be some awesome news coming later on that one (suspense is good for the soul), and also got to spend some time with Comic Book Resources, (CBR), which is probably one of the best sites on the network for Comic Book news and ideas. They also have a running monologue on the whole show that you should go read because their reporting is awesome.
Of course we had to get the t-shirt, the Monsters and Dames book, oh and yeah, the Suicide Girls massive picture book, and they signed it too. Just tons of awesome people, good clean fun, and Bob the Angry Flower, come on folks, what more could you ask for. Check out the pictures from the show below, drop us a note, we will be running around again today with the camera, oh and waiting in line to get our picture taken with William Shatner.
Check out yesterdays set up pictures, you can get an idea of just how huge this hall is for people to celebrate pop culture.

Awesome costumes, that may be my favorite thing about conventions the sheer amount of creativity that surrounds you makes it worth the price of admission.
