Akicon 2011 Bound Bellevue Washington October 2011
Well there it is, Akicon, one of the more intimate and smaller Anime conventions in the Seattle area is doing vendor registrations right now. So if you are going drop us a note and tell us what you thought of Akicon 2010. Akicon is relatively new, as such it is still hotel based and not in the huge Seattle convention center like its sister convention Sakuracon.
Given that it is still relatively new, 2010 was the first time it had been to Bellevue after moving down from Everett Washington. The cool part about Akicon is that it is right before the major holidays and one of the few local conventions at the tail end of the year. Most of the Seattle conventions stack in during March and April, a tail end convention allows people to be more relaxed as a vendor because they are not back to back conventions on the schedule.
We are looking forward to our first time at Akicon as a vendor. We dropped in last year and had a really good time, talked to some of the other vendors and got a feel for the event. It is worth checking out and we will keep people updated as we add to our convention schedule. Akicon though should be fun, it is the only one in the late season, it is an anime convention full of very cool things to do, and it is right before christmas so this is an opportunity for parents and friends to see what the kids are gravitating to for the holiday shopping season. It is just never too early to be thinking about what your kids are going to want. And it gives the kids an awesome opportunity to blow off steam right as school is starting.
We hope to see you there, and as always, mention that you saw this article on comics forge and you get 10% off your entire purchase. This is almost a standing offer, heck if you say you read comics forge will will have some fun with it. More on Akicon as it happens, and we are hoping to see you there.
