DAR Volume One and Two is a treasure not to be missed
DAR Volume One and Volume Two have had a significant influence in the independent comic book market over the last year, and ever since reading volume one I had to wait about a year for volume two. The wait has been well worth it. Erika Moen is one of the most important and a vibrant voice in alternative comics today, and Dar Volume One and Two does not disappoint the reader in any way at all. Both are definitely rated MR, but well worth picking up and treasuring. Both volumes are an excellent combination of new and older works that have been missing from her regular body of work, this is a awesome collection of comics to read and simply enjoy. And this is some of her strongest work to date, well short of her recent obsession with octopi.
DAR Volume 1 and 2 are what she has been posting to her web comics for year rolled up in a nicely printed trade paperback. The web comic is awesome but hard to read in bed unless you have a laptop, and even then people might frown, so having the book to read in bed is much better, although Erika might not want to know that we read her book in bed, no we didn’t do anything evil at all. Did we mention that she has a Facebook page, or that her web site is right over here, even though it has not been updated in a while as she explores new things to draw, like her recent obsession with octopi, which is totally cool, tentacles rock.
These are books well worth picking up, and you can on her web site or on Amazon, they are hard to find, but well worth finding as well. You can also pick it up at one of our sponsor sites, Alternating Reality Books by following this link. Got something to say? Drop us a note below in comments.
